CRPD is the sum of its parts. Each department strives to provide the best recreation and parks experiences for our diverse and growing community.
As the CRPD’s governing body, the Board of Directors is responsible for setting policies that safeguard the vitality of the district. The five non-partisan members of the Board of Directors are elected by residents located within CRPD’s boundaries. Each member serves a four-year term.
The Board of Directors meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers on the first floor of the Rancho Cordova City Hall building located at 2729 Prospect Park Drive.
The Communications Department provides all of the media, marketing and public relations services for CRPD. Communications shares timely news and information with residents and the media, and engages with the community on district and regional issues. The Finance Department protects CRPD’s assets, oversees financial policies, and manages revenue and payments. Finance prepares the annual budget and provides regular reports and budget analyses to guide and grow the district’s financial health. The Human Resources Department oversees CRPD’s hiring process and provides personnel policy direction. The department administers employee benefits, disability programs and ensures compliance with all applicable laws to maintain CRPD as a positive and desirable place to work. Park Services maintains CRPD’s parks, amenities, equipment and systems. The department ensures that everything from landscaping to picnic areas, irrigation systems to playground equipment is safe and accessible for our community. The Park Planning & Development Department coordinates long range planning, asset management, construction planning, implementation and quality control for new development, park improvements and new park construction. Park Planning ensures that all development within the District supports sustainable, innovative, accessible, safe and responsive facilities through community participation and transparent practices.
