Hagan Community Barn Volunteer Day

We’re cleaning up the Hagan Community Barn in Hagan Community Park!

Dress in work clothes and shoes, bring work gloves and plenty of water. You will be getting dirty. Feel free to bring yard equipment (rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc.). We will be rebuilding fences, moving dirt, cleaning cobwebs and reorganizing equipment. Help us show the Hagan Community Barn some love.

Baked Potato & Bingo Fundraiser

Enjoy a baked potato bar with all the fixings from 11AM-12PM. Then stick around for Bingo and prizes from 12-2PM. This is a fundraiser hosted by the Cordova Senior Advisory Board. All proceeds to benefit the Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center.

Polar Bear Plunge

Cordova Recreation and Park District (CRPD) wants you to take the plunge and experience a winter tradition at the annual Polar Bear Plunge event at Lincoln Village Community Pool and the Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center. This family friendly event is great for all ages. The plunge will take place at 8:30 a.m.

Dress up in your wildest costume and jump into the Lincoln Village Pool. Prizes awarded for best costume. Sign up to take the plunge by December 8 to ensure you get your t-shirt!

Warm up afterwards with free hot chocolate and coffee. Contact the Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center 916-366-3133 for more information. A pancake breakfast and craft fair will be held at the Senior Center.

Measure J Senior Discount Free Workshop

CRPD is granting a senior discount on the Measure J parcel tax for qualified property owners. Learn more about Measure J, the discount and receive application assistance at this free informational workshop. Reserve your space at the front desk and be sure to bring all required documentation.

Sunriver Par Course Ribbon-cutting and Tree Planting

A Community Enhancement Fund project in partnership with CRPD, The Sacramento Tree Foundation and the Sunriver Neighborhood Association. Join us as we celebrate this wonderful new addition. A Par Course is an outdoor exercise track or course, especially for joggers, equipped with a series of stations along the way where one is to stop and perform a specific exercise.

Plant trees and celebrate the opening of the new par course at Sunriver Park on Saturday, April 8. Tree planting starts at 8:30 a.m with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12 noon. This project is supported by the City of Rancho Cordova’s Community Enhancement Fund and CRPD, and is in partnership with the Sunriver Neighborhood Association and the Sacramento Tree Foundation.

Halloween at Hagan

Cordova Recreation and Park District (CRPD) hosts the annual Halloween at Hagan. This family friendly event is great for all ages. Admission is $2 per person (3 and older) and free for children 2 and under. Visit the event page for more details.

Picnic Reservations Open

Picnic reservations begin Wednesday, March 1. Daily use fees for reserved areas range from $75 to $200 depending on the capacity and size of the picnic area. New for 2017, permits for alcohol will be an additional $25 to the rental fee. Alcohol in the parks is only allowed in the reservable spaces and with a permit. Parks and picnic areas not listed below are unreserved and available on a first-come, first-served basis. CRPD recommends reservations for the following parks and picnic areas in advance:

Non-permitted inflatables will not be allowed in the parks.

The District Office, Hagan Community Center, Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center, and Mather Sports Center will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

Teen Late Night-May

Join us as we host a monthly Teen Late Night event from 7-10pm! You can participate in various activities such as karaoke, Xbox 360 gaming tournaments, pool and ping pong tournaments, or dodgeball! Pizza and a drink are included at this fun-filled event.

Teen Advisory Board Information and Social Meeting

This is an informational meeting for parents and teens interested in joining the board. The purpose of the Teen Advisory Board is to engage area teens in outdoor recreational activities and the community. Board members help develop and plan teen activities, events and trips. Anyone interested in joining the board should contact Rashad Williams at rwilliams@crpd.com.
Ages: 6th-12th grade

Teen Advisory Board applications are due by 5PM August 31.

Discovery Kids Preschool Parent Orientation #2

Parent orientation for the Discovery Kids Preschool school year beginning September 5, 2017. All preschool parents (both new and returning) are invited to attend either session, but staff recommends attending the orientation that is in your child’s classroom so you can get familiar with it.
