The Empire Mine State Historic Park is the site of the oldest, largest, and richest gold mine in California. Located in the Western Sierra Nevada, this 856-acre park contains many of the original mine buildings, the owner’s cottage and the restored gardens and grounds as well as the entrance to 367 miles of abandoned and flooded shafts and tunnels. Guests will be taken on a private tour of the Bourn Cottage, Clubhouse and historic gardens. Afterwards, enjoy a hosted lunch at Tofanelli’s in historic downtown Grass Valley. Registration and cancellation deadline is April 14. Meet at the Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center.
