Construction & Projects

Public safety is a top priority for CRPD, especially during construction. Park Planning oversees construction and projects by contractors, staff and volunteers, and routinely coordinates with Park Services and other departments to ensure that projects are safe, well-constructed and successful. All projects built on park property are inspected by Park Planning and Development staff and consultants to ensure they comply with project design and specifications.

Current Projects

Cordova Community Pool Replacement Project

At a special meeting of the Cordova Recreation and Park District Board of Directors, the Board approved a concept plan for two pools to replace the existing Cordova Community Pool facility.

The project budget has been increased to $9,080,000 due to a $3.4 million donation from the City of Rancho Cordova. The new project scope of work requires an update to the project schedule. The project team will update the project schedule in the month of June 2018.  The goal is to begin construction by the end of 2019 and to open the new facility in early 2021. Updates will be posted here.

Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center Ceramic Storage Project

This year the Cordova Recreation & Park District received a $27,000 grant from the City of Rancho Cordova’s Community Enhancement Fund to provide a new kiln, an accessible walkway, and a storage shed for the Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center Ceramics Programs.  The project will be constructed with in-house labor and is expected to be complete by January 2019.

Rosemont Community Park Dugout Replacement Project

The Rosemont Dugouts Improvements Project was included in the Board-approved Fiscal Year 2018/19 budget.  Rosemont Little League generously donated additional funding that allows both dugout and backstop to be improved on the park’s main field.  The Board of Directors approved a construction contract for this work at their September Board meeting and the project is expected to be under construction in late 2018 or early 2019.
