Public Meetings

CRPD hosts and participates in various formal and informal public meetings each month. All meeting agendas hosted by CRPD are available in hardcopy and electronic formats 72 hours in advance of a regular meeting and 24 hours in advance of a special meeting. Anyone can attend a public meeting, and CRPD encourages community members to attend and comment on district business at any of our public meetings. Meeting dates can be found on our Calendar of Events.

Public meetings are governed by The Brown Act (California Government Code 54950) which ensures public access to meetings, information and decisions made by elected bodies.

CRPD Board of Directors

As the CRPD’s governing body, the Board of Directors is responsible for budget oversight and setting policies that safeguard the vitality of the district. The five non-partisan members of the Board of Directors are elected by residents located within CRPD’s boundaries. Each member typically serves a four-year term unless a board member is appointed to complete the term for a vacancy. The Board of Directors meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the Chambers on the first floor of the Rancho Cordova City Hall building located at 2729 Prospect Park Drive, unless otherwise noted on the agenda.

PMRID Oversight Committee

A five-member Oversight Committee appointed by the CPRD Board of Directors reviews PMRID expenditures and makes recommendations for future expenditures. Openings for one- and two-year committee appointments are filled annually. This group meets as needed. Meetings are typically held in the CRPD District Office conference room.

Friends of Cordova Parks, Inc.

Friends of Cordova, Inc, is an independent 501(c)3 that promotes and supports recreation activities, park and facility improvements, and the cultural well-being of the community within the boundaries of CRPD. Friends is overseen by a board of directors appointed to one-year terms. This group meets as needed, but typically once per month. Meetings are typically held in the CRPD District Office conference room.

Town Hall Meetings and Community Meetings

CRPD staff and Board of Directors members will occasionally convene a community meeting to gather input on specific new park developments, current park improvements, updates on major projects or to hear concerns and answer questions. The dates, times and locations of these meetings vary, but all meeting information will be made available online and through localized outreach.
